Killer driver wanted by police

A KILLER driver who caused the death of a teenage boy is wanted by police after breaching his release licence.

Richie Sillence (25) was caged for seven years in 2008 after being convicted of death by dangerous driving.

Passenger Joe Aveling (18), from Maltby, was tricked by Sillence into accepting a lift in a stolen Citroen and died when it crashed at Braithwell.

Sillence, of Woodhouse Green in Thurcroft, was placed on licence upon his release from a young offenders’ institution earlier this year.

But he failed to comply and is suspected of committing criminal damage to a vehicle.

A police spokesman said: “Officers have made extensive enquires to locate Sillence and know that he has links to the Thurcroft, Dinnington and Maltby areas of Rotherham.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident 663 of November 11.
