Jewellery stolen from homes in two burglaries

TWO burglaries which took place within days of each other in the same area could be linked, said police.

The first incident took place on Saville Road, Whiston between 4pm on April 22 and 9.30am on Saturday, April 23.

A significant amount of jewellery was taken during the raid.

The second burglary took place at a home on Whiston Vale between 7.45am and 4.50pm on Monday, April 25.

Jewellery and charity run medals were taken.

PC Garry Pratt, investigating officer for South Yorkshire Police, said: “Burglary is an intrusive crime that can cause considerable distress for victims.

“The items taken from each property hold sentimental value, which only adds to the victims’ distress.

“There are similarities between each burglary and therefore we’re exploring the possibility that these incidents could be linked.
