Hunt for man who attempted to rob bookmakers

POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a bookies.

The man entered William Hill bookmakers in Wales Road, Kiveton Park, at around 10am on Sunday and threatened staff demanding money.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “When the member of staff went into the back of the premises, the man left empty-handed and headed towards Chestnut Avenue.

“The man was reportedly wearing dark clothing and is believed to have had his face covered.

“Nobody was injured during the incident and enquiries are underway in the local community.”
