Fresh appeal for Wickersley bank raid

POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for help to trace robbers who ram-raided a Wickersley bank three weeks ago.

Officers are still looking for men who repeatedly drove a stolen, white Nissan Qashqai into HSBC at the Tanyard shopping centre at around 9.15am on Friday, October 25.

The men — all dressed in dark clothing — got out of the car and entered the bank, stealing a large quantity of cash from the cash machine.

They left the scene in the stolen vehicle, which was later found abandoned in Black Carr Road, Wickersley.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity here or in the Braithwell and Micklebring areas, where stolen property was found abandoned at the roadside.

Det Sgt Mick Hakin said: “We’d like to thank the large number of people who have already come forward with information about this robbery, but we are keen to speak with anyone who may have further details.

“If you were in the area three weeks ago today, think back to where you were and what you were doing. If you saw anything suspicious, give us a call.”

Anyone with information can telephone police on 101, quoting incident number 266 of October 25.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
