Firefighters tackle rubbish fire

One appliance from Dearne station tackled the blaze from 7.30pm to 8pm, using water backpacks to put it out.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.

One crew from Cudworth station attended a chimney fire on Shelley Drive in Monk Bretton at 11.30pm.

They first tried to tackle the blaze from the fireplace, but had to put it out from above using an aerial platform.

The fire is thought to have started accidentally.

Dearne station also attended a deliberate wheelie bin blaze on Brook Close, Grimethorpe at 12.05am.

They used a house reel to put out the fire and left the scene at around 12.30am.
