Fears grow for missing teenager

CONCERN is growing for a teenager who has been missing from home for almost 48 hours.

Sixteen-year-old Grada Munteanu, from the Broom area of Rotherham, was last seen in Sheffield on Tuesday evening (15 March).

There have been no sightings of Grada and despite extensive police enquiries there has been no contact with her or with anyone who may be able to confirm that she is safe.

Det Ch Insp Sarah Poolman, who is leading the investigation, said: “I am very concerned for Grada’s welfare. She is a young girl who has made not been seen for almost two days.

“We know Grada was last seen on Christ Church Road, close to the junction with Nottingham Street in the Burngreave/ Pitsmoor area of Sheffield, at around 6.50pm on Tuesday evening.

“The clothing she was wearing was quite distinctive and consisted of a long red skirt with a mixed blue coloured vest top and a long grey cardigan.

“She also had a blue scarf in her long, dark brown hair and she was carrying a black over the shoulder handbag.

“As Grada is from Broom, she does have connections in this area, as well as in the Ferham and Eastwood areas of Rotherham.

“Alarmingly, however, she has not been seen back in the town at all and there have been no further sightings of her anywhere at all since Tuesday.

“Grada is only 16-years-old and I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen her, or if they know her whereabouts, to please make contact with the police so we can ensure she is located and is safe and well.”

If you have seen Grada or know where she might be, call police on 101, quoting incident number 950 of March 15.
