Emotional plea from stepfather to missing teen

THE stepfather of a missing teenage boy has made a heartfelt plea for him to return home and said he would not be in trouble.

Andrew Needham (33), spoke to The Advertiser this morning while he was out in Rotherham town centre looking for Dillan Blower (15).

Dillan left the family home in Reynolds Close, Flanderwell on Tuesday morning around 8.15am, but has not been seen since.

Police issued an appeal for Dillan yesterday and said they believed he was with 16-year-old Daisy Dale who was also missing.

Daisy Dale, who also goes by the name of Britney Everitt, was last seen at around 9.30am in St John’s Court, Sunnyside.

Mr Needham said Wickersley School pupil Dillan had never been missing overnight before and it was out of character for him.

He said: “His mum is in bits – you try and be strong at the beginning, but the longer it goes on the harder it is."

The worried stepfather said he and mother Linda Needham had been taking it in turns to go out and search for Dillan while the other stayed at home hoping for his return.

Mr Needham said Dillan and Daisy had been dating since December.

He appealed directly to Dillan to come home, adding: “He’s not in any trouble, we just want him to come home.”

Gas engineer Mr Needham said Dillan would be overwhelmed with the amount of friends who had been to their home since the news of his disappearance was shared on social media on Tuesday.

“His little brother Sam (12), who is autistic, misses him, he’s not heard his voice or seen him for three days, he just wants him back home.”
