Crew battles Rotherham grass fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out after arsonists struck on grassland off Herringthorpe Valley Road.

Crews from Rotherham station attended at about 3pm on Saturday and were there for more than two hours.

They used beaters to put out the flames. A fire service spokeswoman confirmed the blaze had been started deliberately.
