Cortonwood Retail park radio plan to beat the shoplifters

TWENTY-one businesses have signed up to a shop link radio scheme aimed at preventing crime on Cortonwood Retail Park.

The shopping centre, off the Dearne Valley Parkway, has seen issues around shoplifting in addition to the long-standing problem of anti-social car meets.

PCSOs have been working with Rotherham Council’s CCTV officer to start the radio link.

Costs have been worked out and the scheme is expected to be up and running this summer.
