A PET cat has been killed in the garden of its owner’s home in Darfield after three men walking dogs let two off their leads.

A PET cat was killed in the garden of its owner’s home in Darfield after three men walking dogs let two off their leads. 

Three men were walking three dogs on leads on West Street at about 9.20pm on Wednesday, April 5, when they approached a gate and let two dogs off their leads and into the garden.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The two dogs attacked a cat in the garden before the three men ran off with the third dog, shortly followed by the other two. 

“The occupier opened their door to see the end of the attack on their pet cat, who was called Loki. 

“Loki sadly died shortly after.” 

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and information and will be releasing CCTV footage of three men they want to speak in connection with the incident via South Yorkshire Police’s Facebook and Twitter channels shortly.
