Car thieves clean up in two Rotherham raids

Police believe the businesses were targeted because they also sell vehicles.

THIEVES have cleaned up at two car washes in Rotherham.

Culprits struck at the Diamond Car Wash on Upper Wortley Road, Thorpe Hesley, overnight on Tuesday.

They entered a building and stole a CCTV system and a red Kia Picanto car, with the registration number AD10 FMU.

Two days earlier, thieves had entered a building at the Valley Car Wash site at Herringthorpe Valley Road and stole a small amount of cash and the keys to a car that was also driven away.

The vehicle was later found in Hoober.

The Kia stolen in the second incident is still missing and South Yorkshire Police are appealing for people to report any sightings to them on 101.
