Burglars broke into the post office and reportedly caused damage, police said

BURGLARS caused damage when they broke into a post office and stole a large quantity of parcels.

Police were called to a burglary at Wentworth Post Office, on Main Street, after “persons unknown” forced entry to the premises at 9.15pm last Wednesday.

Crime scene investigation teams were still at the site this morning investigating the incident.

The burglars caused damage to the post office and left the scene in a vehicle, said a spokesperson, who added: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact us via webchat, our online portal or call 101 quoting incident number 994 of November 2.”
