Bin, fridge and mattress set on fire overnight in the Dearne Valley
ARSONISTS set light to a bin, fridge, mattress and rubbish in two fires across the Dearne Valley overnight.
Firefighters from Edlington station were called out to a wheelie bin torched on Dukes Crescent in Edlington at 10.45pm and left the scene after 20 minutes.
Dearne firefighters then attended a fire involving a fridge, mattress and rubbish at 11.05pm on New Street, Darfield. They left the area at 12.15am.
Both fires are believed to have been started deliberately, a spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
