Arsonists strike twice overnight with rubbish and car fires

FIRE crews spent over an hour tackling deliberate fires in the borough last night after arsonists struck twice.

Firefighters were first called out to a deliberate rubbish fire at 7.15pm on Verona Rise, Darfield. The crew left the scene at 7.50pm.

A crew from Rotherham station was later called to Black Lane in Nether Haugh after a car was deliberately set on fire at 8.45pm.

They were there until 9.30pm.
