Arsonists strike in Kilnhurst and Swinton

A PORTABLE cabin was attacked by arsonists on Sunday evening (2).

Firefighters from Rotherham and Dearne stations attended Carlisle Street, Kilnhurst, at about 5.15pm.

It followed another arson attack on a cardboard recycling bin in a car park in Swinton, on Saturday (1).

Fire crews were called to Queen Street at about 8.10pm and a spokeswoman confirmed the blaze had been started deliberately.

Colleagues also attended a cooker fire on Holly Crescent, Sunnyside, on Sunday and a car fire at Bawtry Road, Wickersley, on Saturday. Both were accidental.
