Armed raiders terrorise young Rotherham couple

A YOUNG man and woman suffered a terrifying ordeal when armed burglars invaded their home.

Two men—one carrying a large knife—entered the house on Broom Lane, Rotherham at around 10pm late on Thursday evening.

They demanded money from the couple, aged 17 and 24, before searching the house for valuables but left empty-handed.

The burglars are described as being in their mid-20s and around 6ft tall with large, stocky frames. One man was Asian and the other white, both with Leeds or Bradford accents.

They were last seen running towards Worry Goose Roundabout wearing dark, hooded tops and dark trousers.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the burglary to call them on 101 and quote crime reference 1324 of Thursday, March 1.
