POLICE have arrested an 11-year-old boy in connection with a fire which destroyed a barn on a West Melton farm.

The blaze engulfed the outbuilding on Highfield Farm, Melton High Street, shortly after 6pm on Thursday, destroying £30,000-worth of produce and equipment.

Fire crews stayed at the scene until 7.30am on Friday to manage the fire as it burned itself out.
