1,000 cannabis plants recovered in police bust at derelict pub

MORE than 1,000 cannabis plants were found at a derelict pub in Wombwell by police acting on a tip-off.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said officers executed the warrant at the derelict Royal Oak pub on Church Street on Tuesday “following intelligence the premises were being used for cannabis cultivation”.

More than 1,000 plants at various stages of growth were found. 

Officers remained on the scene yesterday while carrying out their enquiries.
