Crews fight Mexborough electrical fire

THREE fire crews attended an electrical fire at a Mexborough house last night.

Two appliances from Rotherham and one from Dearne station tackled the blaze on Schofield Street from around 9.30pm.

No injuries were reported and staff left the scene about one hour later. The fire is thought to have started accidentally.

Another crew attended a skip fire in Bolton-upon-Dearne this morning.

Staff from Dearne station were called to Dearne Road at around 6.05am, when a skip was ablaze.

They stayed for around 45 minutes — the fire is thought to have been set deliberately.
