Conisbrough woman faces life in jail for killing

A CONISBROUGH woman has been found guilty this wek of plott with her former lover and his friend to kill her new fiance.

Angela Dowling (48) will be sentenced in May for plotting with Stephen Schofield (33) from Sheffield and Matthew Duffy (23) from Doncaster to murder her lover, 50-year-old Alan Easton.

Det Insp Leigh Sanders called the killing “ reprehensible” and a “brutal attack”.

A fourth defendant — Mark Bingham (50), of Fishponds Road, Sheffield — was cleared on Friday.

A trial at Nottingham Crown Court a jury heard how Mr Easton, of Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, was found buried in a field near Everton, Nottinghamshire, on February 2 last year.

His throat had been cut and he had been beaten and stabbed nine times.

He was still breathing when he was buried in the makeshift grave.
