Conisbrough Castle in line for £1m boost
The castle has successfully negotiated the first round of application for Heritage Lottery fund cash to pay for improvements and now a full bid is being prepared by English Heritage.
A decision will be made in December.
Michael Constantine, assistant visitor operations director, said: “These are really exciting times for Conisbrough.

Hide Ad“The monument is in excellent condition and people can now see that positive things are happening.
“If everything goes to plan the new improvements should be complete and ready to view by summer 2013.
“We are hoping to get funding of around £900,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and both ourselves and Doncaster Council would find the remaining amount.”
