CONDOLENCES: James Leverett

ROTHERHAM solder James Leverett was killed by a roadside bomb iwhile serving in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

 

James, who was serving with the  Royal Dragoon Guards died while on vehicle patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province, in southern Afghanistan, on July 5.

His Viking armoured vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.

James came from Rawmarsh and leaves his parents, Neville and Sharon, his three brothers, Neville, Lewis and Jack, and his girlfriend, Tiffany, who is expecting thier first child.

Lt Col James Carr-Smith, spokesman for Task Force Helmand, has paid tribute to James saying: 

“He died in the course of his duty and among his fellow soldiers.

“His courage and sacrifice will not be forgotten. We will remember him.”
