Restaurants including Alfonso's on the High Street, Apna on Psalters Lane, II Bacio on Sheffield Road and the Italian Pizza Oven on the High Street have been working with the business community support officers to come up with a package to attract more people to the town in the evening.

Brij Chaggar, a Chamber of Commerce representative of Rotherham Enterprise, said: “This is a great example of how Rotherham Enterprise is working to help existing businesses by looking at ways in which they can boost their organisation while helping improve the local economy.

“There is a great deal of work to be done to improve Rotherham's evening economy and these restaurateurs are taking the first step in attracting families, couples and people of all ages to come into the town and give them a go.

“Rotherham town centre has so much more to offer than just the under-25s drinking culture.”
