Clean-up to start this week at Mexborough eyesore

Doncaster Council staff were supposed to clean up the overgrown area of land around Windhill Avenue in Mexborough last November.

However, their equipment proved to be inadequate and the work was put on hold until now.

Mexborough councillor David Holland said: “They have apologised for the delay and it’s great news that work can re-start this week as we’ve been waiting a long time.

“Our long-term plan is for the site to be used for much-needed council housing however until that happens, this will be a recurring problem that’s needs sorting on a regular basis.”
