Chance to enter art show

ARTISTS are being invited to show their masterpieces to the world as entries for the seventh annual Open Art Exhibition are now being accepted.

The celebration of local talent starts on Monday, October 14, and will be held in Rotherham’s Gallery @ Riverside.

The showcase, which runs until November 30, is open to both professional and amateur artists who live in and around South Yorkshire and are aged 17 or over.

Prizes will be awarded for best exhibits in the show, so with a first prize of £200, second prize of £100 and the People’s prize of £50, the show is set to draw in some excellent quality work.

Artists can enter up to two works, which must be originals and produced in the last three years.

Most art and craft, including 2D oils, acrylics, watercolours, gouaches, drawings, pastels, prints, collage, photography and digital art and 3D pieces, including sculpture are welcome.

Entries have to be in by September 6 and there is a non refundable fee of £5 per artwork.
