Car catches fire in petrol station

A CAR caught fire on a petrol forecourt near to a busy supermarket.

The incident occurred at Morrisons on Bawtry Road, Bramley, at around 12.50pm on Sunday (13).

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR) said a crew from Maltby attended the scene for around 20 minutes.

A spokeswoman for SYFR said it was an accidental fire believed to have been started due to an engine fault and no one was injured. 

A crew from Rotherham and Bramley also attended another accidental fire at a home on Cavendish Road, Holmes at 2.20pm later that day.

Firefighters were in attendance for 15 minutes to deal with a light fitting that overheated.
