Bomb disposal team to carry out controlled explosion

A CONTROLLED explosion will be carried out on a suspicious package found in a car park.

The package was found on Temple Road, Templeborough, near Magna Science Adventure Centre, at around 8.45am this morning (Tuesday).

Sheffield Road, Templeborough, remains closed between St Lawrence Road and the junction with Ickles Way.

An eyewitness said businesses within 200m of the package have been evacuated.

Staff at nearby businesses have had to leave their cars at work while the cordon is in place.

A police spokeswoman said police were liaising with the explosive ordinance disposal unit.
