The plaque will be revealed on June 6 and will be sited at the entrance of Barnburgh Hall Gardens which now stand in the grounds of the hall which was demolished in the 1960s.

The idea of having a blue plaque was first put forward by history group founder member Peter Dawson who has carried out extensive research of the Cresacre and More families who shaped the early development of the area.

A spokesperson for Barnburgh and Harlington History Group said: “The village is so proud that two well-known families lived at Barnburgh for 600 years.”
