Bins backlog being addressed, council say


Extra crews are continuing to work in tandem with the regular bin collections, which re-started on Monday.
While the majority of the borough’s 118,000 properties across the borough did receive a collection last week those who did not will have their waste collected as follows:

Hide AdJanuary 7: Maltby, Firbeck, Brookhouse, Hooton Levitt, Carr, Letwell, together with parts of Bramley, Wickersley, Thurcroft, Ravenfield, Wickersley, Thurcroft, Ravenfield and Sunnyside.
January 8 - Parts of Bramley, Wickersley, Thurcroft, Ravenfield, Sunnyside, Wath, Brampton Bierlow, West Melton, together with parts of Thorpe Hesley, Kimberworth, Greasbrough, Munsbrough, East Dene, Eastwood.
January 9 - The remaining parts of Thorpe Hesley, Kimberworth, Greasbrough, Munsbrough, East Dene, Eastwood.
Cllr Mahroof Hussain, Rotherham Borough Council's Cabinet Member for the Environment, apologised for the disruption in the waste collection service.

Hide AdHe added: "We are fully aware of the concerns of those people who did not receive a collection and we obviously apologise to them.
“Unfortunately the arrangements put in place meant that some properties out of the 118,000 households we collect from, went beyond the expected periods between collections and so did not receive a collection to the normal standards they expect.
“For that we apologise but it was done with the best intention of recovering the service as soon as possible.”
