BAWTRY: Memorial cricket match in memory of Daniel

A special memorial cricket match was played in Bawtry last Monday to celebrate the life of talented young Bawtry Cricket Club player Daniel Mothersdale.

The successful event raised a significant amount of money, which will go towards the building of a permanent memorial for opening batsman Dan, who tragically died in September.

A donation will also be made to the Papyrus charity, which aims to prevent suicides in young people.

Dan’s fellow members of Bawtry Cricket Club that included players from Bawtry’s senior, junior and ladies’ sections along with players from a number of local clubs formed four teams which contested the event.

Bawtry Cricket Club is planning to make the Daniel Mothersdale memorial match a permanent fixture which will be played every Christmas time to remember a well regarded and much missed playing colleague and friend.
