Bank holiday train disruption expected in Rotherham

COMMUTERS have been warned to expect disruption this bank holiday weekend due to engineering works.

Trains will not be able to call at Rotherham Central and replacement bus services will run between Meadowhall and Swinton from August 27 to 29 and September 4.

Services affected will include Northern Rail service from Sheffield to Leeds via Moorthorpe, Sheffield to Doncaster, Sheffield to York and the Transpennine Express service from Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes.

Millers fans heading to the South Yorkshire derby with Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) can use replacement bus services between Rotherham and Meadowhall but have been advised to use supporters’ coaches and alternative transport where possible.
