Awards double for Rotherham’s Factory 2050

A TRAIL-BLAZING Rotherham factory is in line for a national awards double after a “great night” where is scooped two regional prizes.

Factory 2050 at the Advanced Manufacturing Park at Catcliffe, took the Project of the Year and the Health and Safety Award for Exceptional Care and Attention on Site at the Constructing Excellence Awards in Leeds on July 2.

Architects Bond Bryan and contractors Interserve now go on to the national awards final later in the year.

Regional Managing Director for Interserve, John Gittins, was also awarded Achiever of the Year.

And in another plaudit for the state-of-the-art circular manufacturing and research complex, Factory 2050 has also been shortlisted for the RIBA 2016 Regional Awards.

Bond Bryan director, Darren Southgate said: “This project, from start to finish, has been a truly excellent and collaborative effort by our client, the University of Sheffield, the design team and an exceptional contractor, Interserve, who have delivered this innovative project on site. 

“The word ‘team’ is often much over-used but this project has worked at every level and defines how people should work together as a team.”
