Five finalists will receive an all-expenses paid VIP trip to London and tickets to the Health Hero Awards Gala dinner on June 26. The overall winner will receive a family holiday worth £5,000.

George Valentine, who nominated Julie, said: “Julie treated our severely disabled daughter Victoria at the John Street Nursing Home.

“We were amazed at Julie’s enthusiasm for giving Victoria – who was in a wheelchair and could not talk or feed herself – a better quality of life. She took her ice skating, bowling, to dances, a Seventies music concert and clothes shopping in her wheelchair, and while Victoria couldn’t speak, she showed how much she enjoyed being out and about by digging her wheelchair into the ground.

“We are forever grateful for her treatment of Victoria.”
