Are You Ready? in line for prestige award

A TRAIL-blazing enterprise scheme launched in Rotherham has been nominated for a national award.

Are You Ready? has been invited to London as a finalist of the StartUp Britain Best Enterprise Support Award competition.

The project, which launched nationally in June 2011 with the support of founding patron, Carl Hopkins—best-known for featuring on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire—was based on the Rotherham Ready scheme.

The programme aims to effect massive cultural change across the UK, by developing enterprise skills among four- to 19-year-olds.

Schools liaison officer Becky Mollart said: “We’re so excited about the prospects the StartUp Britain award can offer.

“We believe we have a blueprint for success in developing enterprise and we’re keen to share our expertise across the UK.”

Are You Ready? has developed several projects under the Ready brand, including Hull Ready, Scarborough Ready and Calderdale Ready.
