Appeal for specials launched

SOUTH Yorkshire Police is continuing its drive to recruit more volunteers as special constables.

Numbers have risen from 273 to 410 since the campaign began in June, 2013.

The target is 650 by June, 2015.

Specials have the same powers as regular officers. They receive the same training and each have their own mentor.
