Appeal after dog bites girl (11)

POLICE are appealing for information after an 11-year-old girl was reportedly bitten by a dog in Balby.

The girl was out with friends on Waverley Avenue when the dog approached and  allegedly bit the girl on her leg, causing injuries that left her needing hospital treatment.

The dog isdescribed as being brown and white and knee height, but its breed of dog is not known, police said.

The owner of the dog is described as being a white man around 5ft 10ins tall, possibly in his 50s.

He reportedly had white or grey hair and was unshaven.

It is believed that the owner of the dog was chasing the animal after the incident, which happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday, October 4.
