Albert braves waxing for young Kasabian

GRIT your teeth and bare it!

That was the only policy for brave Albert Wilkinson as he exposed large areas of skin and underwent a gruelling waxing session in support of a little boy with terminal cancer.

Albert Wilkinson had his leg and chest chair ripped out at Kuttin Kru in Rotherham on Tuesday in support of eight-year-old Kasabian Newton-Smith.

Little Kasabian, of Parson Corss, has two inoperable brain tumours and has undergone dozens of 111 radiation treatments.

Footballers including England stars Wayne Rooney and Adam Lallana have joined a social media campaign to tweet their support with the hashtag #1LastSmile4Kasabian.

Kerry Lawrence-Brown, who was among those wielding the wax strips, said: “Albert was such a good sport. He had a wooden spoon in his mouth and every time we pulled off another strip you could see he was in a lot of pain but he said it was nothing compared to what that little boy has gone through.

“His skin was red raw when he left — I don’t think he’ll be embracing the smooth look.”
