Advice to help clubs cash in on Olympic spirit

SPORTS leaders are being encouraged to revisit the Olympic torch route next month for a busload of advice on running a club.

The Sport England Learning Bus will stop in Rotherham on its race around the country, retracing the flame’s footsteps with finance and management experts in tow.

Simon Pugh of South Yorkshire Sport said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local club leaders to access a whole range of support and advice which can help their clubs to develop.

“There is no need to book your visit — the doors are open to all and representatives will be on board to explain how you can gain access to seminars and mentoring.”

The bus will arrive at Rotherham Leisure Complex, Effingham Street, at 7am on Friday, September 7, remaining open until 8pm.

It will then appear at the Rotherham Show, Clifton Park on Saturday, September 8 between 9.30am and noon.
