A glitzy night in Barnsley

MY seven friends and I all got to a hotel in Barnsley via a silver streamlined limousine that picked us up at 6pm.

Inside the vehicle was LED lighting and entertaining, enjoyable music that we all sang along to.

We had a photographer and all my friends and family were there to wave us off. When we got to the hotel, we were welcomed with a red carpet, teachers from Wickersley and paparazzi (because our prom was Hollywood themed).

Everyone had made a superb effort, a lot of the boys wore bow ties and most of the girls’ dresses were Grecian-style — all very beautiful.

Soon afterwards, we were led into to a function room where the three course meal and awards ceremony were to be held.

The room was dimly lit with a striking lilac and around each chair was an organza ribbon. The food was delightful and later on the awards ceremony commenced.

Laughs and applause were shared all around the spacious room and an emotional farewell was given by our head of year.

Then we were excused from the formal part of our night and were taken downstairs to the dancefloor.

Wild moves were pulled and photos were taken with classmates that we have socialised with for five years! A terrific night was had by everyone: teachers, staff, pupils and even some parents!
