£8.4m revamp passed

A MULTI-million pound regeneration of Swinton town centre has been approved.

The landscape on Station Street and Charnwood Street will dramatically change as the £8.4m project will see the building of 49 new homes behind a revamped civic hall, new library and children’s play area.

Richard Conroy, chief executive of housebuilders Conroy Brook, told Rotherham Council’s planning board that the project would also “reduce anti-social behaviour”. The plans were approved unanimously.
