COUNCIL housing firm 2010 Rotherham has appointed a new board chairman

He said: “I am thrilled to be taking on the role. “This is an interesting time to be joining the organisation, with new challenges for the public sector as a whole.

“I look forward to working closely with the executive team to build on the organisation's strengths and I, together with the board, will continue to ensure that customers receive a high quality service and value for money from 2010 Rotherham.”

Interim chief executive Graham Eades said: “Our ALMO has the potential to bring huge benefits and improvements to the homes and lives of local tenants and leaseholders.

“We have already made significant inroads, including moving from no stars to a two star 'good' ALMO, whilst delivering a very successful Decent Homes scheme on time and within budget.

“We are firmly focused on achieving three star status and delivering three star services to our customers, and I very much look forward to working with Paul to achieve these results.”

Mr Jagger was awarded an MBE in 2002 for services to the Trade Union movement, and he has an Honorary Doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University in recognition of his work as Governor and its Vice Chairman.
