School run raises £5,000 for hospice charity

Pupils, staff and parents at Listerdale Junior Academy were sponsored to complete as many laps of the field as possible in 40 minutes — and brought in an impressive £5,135.20 for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
David Simpson, Listerdale’s principal, said: “We are a school of only 300 pupils, so to raise this amount of money in one go is staggering.

“Who knows which of us might have need of their specialist care in the future? A big thank yougoes out to everyone who contributed.”
