Car production hit at Japanese manufacturers

MAZDA is the latest company to temporarily halt production because of the devastating earthquake in Japan.

 

Production has been temporarily stopped at Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Subaru

Mazda’s factories in Hiroshima and Hofu were not affected by last week’s quake, plans to restart production tomorrow.

Honda reported the death of an employee who was crushed by a falling wall at Tochigi.

Nissan is understood to have suffered damage to 2,300 Nissan and Infiniti cars destined for the U.S.

The cars were parked at two coastal loading points when the giant tsunami hit.

Toyota suspended production yesterday at all 12 of its factories in Japan but intends to restart tomorrow, costing lost output of £40,000 vehicles
