Auditions will be held at The Trinity Community Centre on Sough Hall Avenue, Thorpe Hesley, between noon and 2pm next Sunday, October 4.

There is no need to prepare anything for the audition but an audition fee of £3 is payable on the day.

Social distancing regulations are in place for both auditions and rehearsals.

Ian McGrath, the youth theatre’s director, said: “It is vital that we try to offer young people opportunities to get involved in positive activities in the current situation.

“They are going to have little opportunity to be involved in performing arts projects in schools and this is an important part of a lot of youngsters’ lives.

“It is quite a challenge to stage a show in a ‘socially distanced’ way but the rehearsals we have had so far have been very successful and we are determined to bring theatre back to life next year.”

The theatre group aim to stage Honk! at Montgomery Hall in Wath in March, with rehearsals taking place every Sunday afternoon at The Trinity Centre.
