Megaslam Wrestling was founded in Rotherham ten years ago by Brad ‘Flash’ Taylor and went on to become Europe’s most prolific wrestling company, presenting 300 live events a year around the country.

It will return to Rotherham on Friday, February 15, at the Rotherham Football Centre, where its colourful crew of body-slamming wrestlers will entertain the crowds.

Those on the bill include Megaslam champion Danny Hudson, from Liverpool.

Hudson is a fiery competitor and has held the championship since June, defeating former champion Dan Evans in Hampshire.

CJ Banks, who is also on the bill, has been with Megaslam since 2015 and also competes regularly on TV as part of ITV’s WOS show.

Joining them will be 'El Gringo' Craig West, who trained in Mexico, ‘The Sheikh’, ‘The Unit’ Mickey Barnes, ‘Action Man’ Stixx, and many more.

Two-time Megaslam champion Robbie McKenzie, of Goldthorpe, will also appear.

Brad said: “Ever since the age of five, when I watched wrestling for the first time on TV, I knew that this is what I wanted to do.

“I started to train to wrestle when I was 14 and competed regularly up until I created Megaslam in 2009.

“We presented our first event at Silverwood Miners’ Welfare in Dalton in January of that year and around 30 people turned up.”

Brad said the show toured around working men’s clubs around Rotherham but the crowds “did not pick up”.

“Megaslam won the contract for holiday centre chain Pontin’s in 2015 and that was the main turning point for the organisation,” said Brad.

“It provided a platform to go into bigger venues such as Doncaster Dome and Leeds Town Hall and that is when crowds really picked up.

“All of a sudden, we were attracting more than 700 people to the events.

“We started to get a name for ourselves as a quality family entertainment show and we just took the ball and ran with it.

“I always aspired to produce a prolific schedule, but never did I think the company would be where it is today, presenting more than 300 live events all around the UK in huge buildings and attracting sell-out after sell-out.”
