Why not make your own tasty favours?

FAVOURS are a great way to make a statement at your wedding and can be a lovely personal touch which your guests will remember forever.

Depending on the size of your wedding, they can prove expensive but with a little creativity they don’t have to be.

One of the best ways to personalise your favours is to make them yourself. Now this may prove time-consuming but if you team up with your bridesmaids and plan in advance there is no reason why you can’t do just that.

Stir in the flour to get a smooth paste. Now is the time to add your extra bits - try chocolate chips.

Turn on to a work surface and gently roll out until the paste is 1cm thick.

Cut out your shapes and place onto a non-stick baking tray. Sprinkle with icing sugar and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until pale golden-brown (keep your eye on them so they don’t go crisp).

Set aside to cool on a wire rack.

You can buy individual plastic self-seal bags from lots of craft shops. Make sure your bag is big enough for your biscuit / s.

Place a biscuit in the bag and seal.

Use a piece of ribbon / lace to tie the bag in a cluster.

Cut out a name tag using card (any shape you like) and add you guests name to double up as a name place.

Store in a cool, dry place and try not to nibble on them before the big day!!

Happy baking.

Tip: If baking isn't your thing - leave it to the experts. Many specialists offer a favour making service which can be delivered straight to your venue.
