SURGERY TIMES: Cllr John Turner, who represents the Hellaby ward on Rotherham Council, holds a surgery at Wickersley Library and Community Centre, Bawtry Road, on the first Tuesday of each month 5.30-6.30pm.

GILL CLOSE AND HALL CROFT RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION: The Association held its summer garden party recently. An update was given on the progress of the Redrow development on the paddock off Hall Croft. A gift sale table was supported in aid of St Francis Church, Bramley. Secretary Maureen Rogers presented Carol Bowser with flowers for hosting the event.

SECOND NATURE LIFE SUPPORT: The charity has supported a number of outreach projects and helped with community gardens in the region. The charity helped the Rotherham Women’s Counselling Services on Moorgate with the donation of equipment and items. Hedges and topiary sculptures at Winthrop Park were clipped and cut.

WICKERSLEY CI BOWLING CLUB: The club held its Annual Vets Singles Competition at the Morthen Road bowling green. It consisted of a ladies’ and men’s open draw in which 22 players took part. There were two groups and each player played 10 games of six ends. At the end of all the games there was one winner from each group. Alan Thickett played Ken Duty for the trophy. They played 10 ends, and after nine ends the score was six across. Alan Thickett won overall by eight points to six.
