SURGERY TIMES: Cllr John Turner, who represents the Hellaby ward on Rotherham Council, holds a surgery at Wickersley Library and Community Centre, Bawtry Road, on the first Tuesday of each month 5.30-6.30pm.

WICKERSLEY TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD: August 27’s meeting was held at The Barn, Wickersley. Chairman Sheila Damms advised of dates for future events: the Book Club meets on September 15 at the Tabard and the annual coffee morning will be held at Silverwood Miners’ Welfare on November 11. The Drama Festival on August 12 was well supported. The raffle this week was won by Olwyn Bannister. The meeting on September 24 will include speaker Antonia Swift from Guide Dogs for the Blind.

ST ALBAN’S CHURCH: September 13 – a representative from the Archbishop of York’s Crossroads Mission will be joining the congregation at services. As part of the mission the church will be joining in with other churches to host a Mega Messy Church at the Rotherham Show 10am-4pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. September 16 – the Ladies Fellowship is having a talk on Becoming a Curate by Eleanor Robertson. Christianity Explored and Discipleship Explored courses are due to start in September.
