CHARITY WALKABOUT: The ladies from the town Slimmers World group that meets in the Parish Room, Northgate every Thursday evening raised money for Cancer Research UK by taking part in their own annual Race for Life event. The dedicated slimmers collected over £560 which included £113 donated on the day by generous townsfolk as the team undertook a 5K walkabout around the town. The squad of 15 ladies, who have lost a combined weight of 27 stone, were accompanied by one of the member’s daughters and pet dogs Keira and Oscar. Tickhill Slimmers World consultant Christine Cheetham organised the event which raises awareness of how keeping a healthy weight and being active can help to improve health and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
