THORPE HESLEY VILLAGE CHOIR: Meeting every Wednesday in school term-time from 7-9pm at The Trinity Centre, located adjacent to Holy Trinity Church, Sough Hall Avenue, Thorpe Hesley, Rotherham. Adults of all ages welcome.

THORPE HESLEY AND SCHOLES VILLAGE SHOW: September 19 – at Trinity Community Centre: veg, flowers, fruit, cookery, handicrafts, children’s, floral art classes. Entries accepted 8.30-11am. LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: The programme for 2015/16 has been circulated. The first meeting is on October 21 when Tony Dodsworth gives a talk called Gwennie’s Diary: He is followed by Janet Ridler, education officer at the cathedral, who talks on  Sheffield Cathedral; 900Years of History. December 16 is the Christmas meeting and will include some of the commercial films shot in Thorpe Hesley. After Chrismas guest speakers will include Tony Grice on the Feoffees of Rotherham and Mel Jones on the archaeology of the Thorpe area. Meetings at Thundercliffe Grange, Grange Lane 7.30pm. A season ticket/ membership costs £15 (concessions £12), entrance to individual lectures/meetings £3 (concessions £2.50) with optional membership £1 (concessions 50p).

THORPE HESLEY WI LADIES: At the meeting on September 2, several members cooked a favourite recipe. On September 3, members visited Kelham Island Museum. The week was rounded off with a visit to the WI Centennial Fair in Harrogate.
